From studying the general plans of a ship, through the sizing of a hull girder, to the hydrodynamic and stability studies, SOFRESID ENGINEERING is capable of defining all systems and equipment, from engine room to bridge, as well as all standard or mission-specific gear.

We also support our shipbuilder, naval dockyard, and oil & oil service company clients in the class certification process (BV, DNV, ABS, RINA, Lloyd’s, etc.) and in construction monitoring, during trials and commissioning.


In the civil naval field, SOFRESID ENGINEERING works on a large range of products: installation vessels and barges, cruise ships and ferries, cargo ships, and so on, in the framework of:

3D laser readings: When refitting ships, and from the first on-board inspections, we regularly make 3D laser readings of complex zones, enabling acquisition in 3D CAD of the actual environment, and serving as a basis for our integration studies. SOFRESID ENGINEERING has mastered this methodology for over 10 years.
